Softball 11/12 Year Old District 6 Playoffs

I am loving this rainy day "off" from behind the lens so I can catch up in front of the computer.  I volunteered to photograph some local Softball and Baseball tournaments being held here at our local field.  The first of the tournaments is about mid-way through...and I wanted to recap some of my favorite photos here in a slide show.  Maybe it's just because I spend so much time looking at photos...I love viewing a slide show cause it does all the work for you...you can just sit back and watch...no buttons to push or pages to turn.

Yes...this slide show is about softball, but we all know my true passion is photographing dogs...and this just wouldn't be my signature work without them!

Click on the softball game below to view slide show...and spread the word...I can customize a slide show for anyone...just view the photos on my Pictage site and make a favorites folder...you can pick up to 80 photos...then contact me here at minorjo@gwi.net

Molly

Last week a friend and co-worker of my husbands had the daunting responsibility to put his beloved Bernese Mountain Dog Molly down.  My husband asked him to bring Molly over so I could capture some forever photos of her...and so he did.  Please enjoy these forever photos of Molly...a beautiful, never-to-be-forgotten four legged best friend.

David & Jessica

You know what they say about Maine weather...if you don't like it, just wait a few minutes and it will change...well...so was the story a few Saturdays ago.  I had a photo shoot scheduled with Jessica and David...and we had already rescheduled this one a few times due to my schedule and theirs...so when Jessica called Saturday morning and asked if I thought it was too foggy for our schedule photo session...I was quick to reply..."I love shooting in the fog...it adds...a bit of romance?!"
Wow...mission accomplished!
(might I add...I just love these two...and cannot wait to photograph their wedding next year)

Pet and People Walk 2011 for The Center for Grieving Children

The Pet and People Walk for The Center for Grieving Children took place this past Saturday, June 11th.  The pleasure of photographing this event is all mine.  I truly am my happiest when surrounded by man's best friend.  I attended this annual event for the first time last year, and I was really a little bit awe struck to be considered a part of the Center for Grieving Children's volunteers.  Last year I volunteered to photograph the event because of the dogs, but it didn't take me long to realize that this event is so much bigger than that.  The children I met, and the personal journeys that each of them are  on, after hearing some of the stories, well let's just say the Center for Grieving Children is a giant blessing we are so very fortunate to have in our community.  Although I'm not a child, I have endured my fair share of grieving in the past two years...in fact...maybe a little bit more than my fair share...anyhow, again, I cannot stress how fortunate this community is to have such a center available for ANYONE in need of services.  Now that I've participated in this annual event I'm hopeful to continue to participate for years to come.  A little rain couldn't even damper this event in the slightest!  Please enjoy the slide show of this day by clicking on the photo above.

Homer

Hello Homer!  One adorable...fast growing four month old Newfoundland puppy!  When Homer's owner Meredith contacted me, we were in a two week stretch of rainy weather, and her biggest concern was the rate of speed that Homer was growing at.  Not really a big deal, unless you are me...and you really prefer photographing your subjects outside...but the weather forecast couldn't commit to a clear, non rainy day...so, I scheduled an indoor photo shoot, with the promise of meeting up again with Homer on the first available clear weather permitting day of the future.  We did catch a brake however, and were able to move our scheduled photo shoot outdoors during a break in the rain.  Our big bonus...bright green grass...and one beautiful Newfoundland puppy just itching to play outdoors!!
